Alyson Pattie, CPA

Partner

As part of the senior leadership team at BPSD, Alyson Pattie, CPA, works very closely with her clients — small to mid-size companies in a wide range of industries, including entertainment, professional services, and real estate — in the areas of financial planning, consulting, tax and accounting. Alyson joined BPSD in September 2013, after relocating from Cleveland, Ohio. In 2021, she was promoted to Principal and in 2022, she joined their Partner group. Alyson plays a prominent role in developing internal policies and procedures and working with the entire organization.

In addition to BPSD, Alyson is involved with the California Alarm Association, participating on the Board of Directors, and in industry seminars and workshops. She also works directly with many of BPSD’s electronic security industry clients.

Prior to joining BPSD, while still in Cleveland, Alyson was a staff accountant at Maloney + Novotny after she earned her CPA in 2012. From 2005-2012, she held several positions at National City Bank/PNC Bank, where she started as a management trainee and rose to become an Assistant Vice President/Branch Manager from 2008-2012, responsible for a deposit base of $94 million.

Alyson’s original career goal was to become a company CFO. She pursued an MBA while still a bank manager. While working with business owners and corporate officers, she realized that most of them had a CPA background. This inspired her to change her course work to focus on accounting. “I have been in the industry for more than 10 years and feel very fortunate that I am able to do exactly what intrigued me to make this career change — consulting with company owners on business and personal tax planning, business structuring and overall consulting on everyday accounting and tax inquiries.”

Alyson married her college sweetheart. Together they dreamed about moving to the west coast for the weather and the lifestyle. “My husband and I love spending our free time in our yard. We love learning about new plants and figuring out how we can incorporate them into our gardens. When a stressful day hits, we go outside and enjoy the serenity we have created.”
