Julia Shumskaya, who joined BPSD in May 2023, brings over 10 years of experience in tax planning, tax compliance and business consulting. Julia provides tax and accounting services to high-net worth individuals and their closely held small- and mid-size businesses, as well as individuals in the entertainment industry, service professionals, real estate owners/operators and non-profit organizations. Julia assists her clients with various compliance issues, including payroll and sales tax filings, business license, multi-state filings and bookkeeping questions.

I enjoy working closely with my clients to get the answers they are looking for and to provide timely solutions, whether it is as simple as answering a “quick tax question”, preparing a complex tax return or advising on the best entity structure to minimize my client’s tax liabilities.”
Julia moved to Los Angeles from Russia when she was 21. She went back to school a few years later to earn her bachelor’s degree. While attending college, Julia worked at a bank and started her accounting career as a freelance bookkeeper, which led her to choose accounting as her major.
After graduating CSUN in 2012 with a degree in Professional Accountancy, Julia began her career in public accounting with another local midsize CPA firm where she developed her technical skills and gained valuable experience, while growing from a tax staff to a tax manager.
Together with her husband and two kids, Julia enjoys traveling around the world during summer break. When not traveling, they enjoy gathering friends and family in the backyard of their home.
